MEMBER, REAR PARTY
The Rear Party Team is responsible for all home-based logistical needs of the team and information transfer to Calgary Fire Department and STARS during a deployment. The Rear Party Team members report to the Logistics Manager. This individual must meet all general requirements for members of CANTF2 (refer to General Requirements section).
The duties of the Rear Party Team Member are:
- Establish appropriate liaison with other internal/external agencies/organizations and officials around home base;
- Work with the Logistics Manager to develop the logistical plan;
- Coordinate purchasing and securing of goods and services for the deployed team;
- Responsible for the cache, its maintenance, tracking, and deployment/demobilization (coordination with the Logistics Manager);
- Responsible for the dispersal of information to the Calgary Fire Department and STARS during a deployment;
- Ability to work closely with the deployed team in addressing needs;
- Responsible for briefing and situation reports and ensure the Logistics Manager is informed;
- Oversees website updates, as it pertains to the family portal during deployments;
- Provide situation reports, maintain records and reports;
- Performs additional tasks or duties as assigned.
Skills Required
- Must have sufficient skills to develop a written or verbal report;
- Must be able to deploy by ground or air (fixed and rotary wing).
Skills Desired
- Knowledge and understanding of municipal purchasing;
- Previous Project Manager experience;
- Excellent computer skills in the following areas; word, excel, web, inventory tracking software;
- Official training in Incident Command System ( ICS 100, ICS 200 etc..);
- Knowledge and understanding of rescue equipment and tools;
- Loadmaster's certification for ground and air;
- TDG certification—both land and air;
- Previous management experience in emergency response or military;
- Previous experience as a Project Planner.
